Architectural Draftsperson

Lalor Design and Drafting – Geraldton, WA

Lalor Design and Drafting is an established building design practice based in Geraldton, Western Australia, specialising in custom homes, unit developments, and commercial projects. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Architectural Draftsperson to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects from concept design through to construction documentation while being mentored by an experienced team.

 

About the Role

The successful applicant may be involved in all stages of the design and documentation process, including:

·         Preparing sketch plans and development application drawings.

·         Producing comprehensive construction documentation.

·         Coordinating drawings with structural, electrical, hydraulic, energy assessment, and other consultants.

·         Ensuring designs comply with the National Construction Code (NCC), Residential Design Codes (R-Codes), and local planning requirements.

·         Liaising with clients, builders, local governments, and consultants.

 

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

·         A Diploma in Building Design and Drafting, or a related qualification.

·         Proficiency in ArchiCAD.

·         Experience preparing sketch plans, development application drawings, and construction documentation.

·         Solid understanding of WA construction methods and documentation standards.

·         Strong knowledge of the NCC, R-Codes, and local planning legislation.

·         Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

·         Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate drawings.

·         The ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
